Failed NaNoWriMo 2007

Posted in Fiction on November 22nd, 2007

Sad to report that I have failed NaNoWriMo 2007. I’m not surprised that I did. I had that bad feeling a few days in when my story was turning to shit and it wasn’t fun to write nor did I like the direction it was heading nor did I like ANY of the characters. I shouldn’t really offer excuses though. Next time I’ll plan it better with more than a days lead time. I’ll probably still fail though. Haah. :(

My Pushie: In The Literal Sense

Posted in Health on November 16th, 2007

A few weeks back a good mate of mine fixed me up with a light mountain bike for next to nothing.  He works  in a bike shop and is now my bike mechanic. Pit crew as I call him. Since I got it I’ve been riding around here and there and even began catching the train several stations away from my home one and riding back. Don’t ask why, it just seems more fun riding with a purpose rather than around the block a few times.

Tonight I drove my car to my mates house with the bike in the back. Camelback full of water and a couple of new lights fitted and I set off on a one hour or so bike ride home. It was heaps fun and I was going well thanks to a relatively level ride home. About 15 minutes walk away from my home… well, I walked. Got a flat tyre so I pushed my pushie the rest of the way content with my effort and not really all that tired. Looking forward to an even longer ride next time and I think I’ll carry a spare tube in the bag just in case.

Now I just have to get my car back!

Californication (2007-xxxx)

I started watching this show a few episodes in to the first season earlier this year. From the first episode I was hooked. After a few more episodes I was really hooked. It has really witty writing and a tight group of characters.

David Duchovny plays Hank, a divorced writer who is self destructive. He has an insatiable apetite for gorgeous women, can’t get his life in order and is hopelessly in love with his ex-wife Karen who is living with her fiance and two kids. One of the kids belongs to David and Karen and the other to Bill the fiance. Hillarity ensues. David sleeping with Bills’ daugther, who is sixteen and hot, before he knew she belonged to Bill. Unashamed sex in every episode with all sorts from all walks. Office hanky panky between Davids’ agent and his employee who later sleeps with his wife but only after a threesome went wrong. Another threesome followed involving Hank, the agent and an exteremely hot young lady which happened to be interrupted by the ex and the agents wife. Sounds like Sex in the City with two differences. It doesn’t have that annoying skank Sarah Jessica Parker and it’s good.

NaNoWriMo 2007

I decided, on the last day no less, that I will be taking part in this years NaNoWriMo which means I will not be continuing The Book for at least a month. Wish me luck and pitty me in the same breath. I completed my first 2,000 words today and only 48,000 to go!
